Registration Overview
Users must create a VAE account and complete the applicable onboarding process before accessing certain marketplace features.
All users must provide accurate information and maintain only accounts they are authorized to use. Entertainers and Venue Owners must be at least 18 years old. The 18-year minimum applicable to Entertainers and Venue Owners does not apply to Audience members. All users remain subject to any other eligibility requirements established by VAE or applicable law.
VAE currently supports three account types: Audience, Entertainer, and Venue Owner.
Audience Registration
Audience registration is designed to be simple and does not currently require government-issued identity verification or marketplace approval.
Audience users may be asked to provide:
- first and last name;
- profile photo;
- email and account credentials;
- phone number; and
- location.
For privacy, Audience users are generally displayed to other Users by their first name and last initial rather than their full legal name.
Once registration is completed, Audience users may access applicable marketplace and booking features.
Entertainer Registration
Entertainers complete additional onboarding because they offer paid services through VAE.
Entertainer onboarding may include:
- legal name and contact information;
- stage name, band name, group name, or act name;
- profile photo;
- location;
- entertainer or performance type;
- music genres or performance styles, where applicable;
- biography and service description;
- hourly or fixed pricing;
- equipment or performance requirements;
- travel preferences;
- profile photos, videos, or other media;
- availability information; and
- other information necessary to accurately represent the act or services offered.
Entertainers must complete VAE's applicable identity-verification and marketplace-approval process before receiving full booking access.
The Entertainer's legal name or identification document is not generally displayed publicly. The Entertainer's stage name, band name, group name, or act name will generally be displayed instead.
Venue Owner Registration
Venue Owners complete additional onboarding because they may offer venues for rental and participate in marketplace bookings.
Venue Owner onboarding may include:
- legal name and contact information;
- venue name;
- venue location;
- venue type;
- description;
- capacity;
- amenities and available equipment;
- venue rules or restrictions;
- rental pricing;
- availability;
- venue photographs or other media; and
- other information necessary to accurately represent the venue.
Venue Owners must complete VAE's applicable identity-verification and marketplace-approval process before receiving full booking access.
The Venue Owner's personal legal name is not generally displayed publicly. Users will generally see the venue name associated with the account.
Why VAE Requests Personal Information
VAE requests certain personal information to:
- create and secure User accounts;
- confirm the identity of Entertainers and Venue Owners;
- maintain accurate marketplace profiles;
- prevent fraud, impersonation, and misuse;
- facilitate bookings and communications;
- provide customer support; and
- comply with applicable legal and safety requirements.
Information requested during standard registration may include your name, date of birth, address, contact information, profile information, and government-issued identification where identity verification is required.
VAE does not currently request Social Security Numbers or banking information as part of standard VAE profile registration.
Additional financial, tax, or payout information may later be requested separately by VAE's payment provider where necessary to enable payments, payouts, tax reporting, or regulatory compliance.
Personal information is handled in accordance with VAE's Privacy Policy.
Identity Verification Process
Identity verification helps VAE confirm that Entertainer and Venue Owner accounts are associated with real individuals and supports a safer marketplace.
Verification may require:
- full legal name;
- date of birth;
- address;
- a valid government-issued identification document;
- photographs or identity-verification images; and
- other information reasonably necessary to establish identity.
Users should provide information accurately and as it appears on applicable identification documents.
VAE may use a third-party identity-verification provider to assist with verification.
If a User's identity cannot be verified using the information initially provided, VAE or its verification provider may request additional information or documentation.
VAE's identity verification process is not a criminal background check and does not guarantee that a User is safe, qualified, licensed, insured, reliable, or suitable for a particular booking.
False, altered, fraudulent, or materially misleading identification may result in registration denial, account restriction, suspension, or deactivation.
Marketplace Review & Approval
Entertainer and Venue Owner registrations are subject to VAE review before full marketplace and booking access is granted.
During the review process, VAE may evaluate whether:
- required onboarding information has been completed;
- identity verification has been successfully completed;
- profile and listing information is sufficiently complete;
- submitted information appears accurate and consistent;
- required photographs, media, categories, pricing, or venue information have been provided; and
- the account otherwise satisfies VAE's marketplace requirements.
While an account is under review, certain marketplace features—including the ability to participate in bookings—may remain unavailable.
Once approved, the User will receive access to the applicable booking and marketplace features.
How Long Does Registration Review Take?
VAE does not guarantee a specific approval timeframe.
Review times may vary depending on application volume, verification results, the completeness of submitted information, and whether additional review is necessary.
Users will be notified when their registration has been:
- approved;
- returned for additional information; or
- denied.
VAE may request additional information before making a final approval decision.
If Registration Is Not Approved
If an Entertainer or Venue Owner registration cannot be approved, VAE may provide the User with information regarding available next steps where appropriate.
Depending on the reason, the User may be permitted to correct or provide additional information and resubmit the account for review.
Users may not create additional or duplicate accounts to circumvent a registration denial, account restriction, suspension, or deactivation.
Fraudulent or repeated attempts to bypass VAE's registration and approval process may result in permanent account restrictions.
Payment & Payout Setup
Payment and payout setup is separate from VAE's standard profile registration and marketplace approval process.
Entertainers and Venue Owners who wish to receive earnings through VAE will be required to establish or connect the applicable payment account through VAE's payment processor, Stripe.
Stripe may separately request identity, business, tax, financial, or payout information necessary to provide its services.
The exact information requested is determined by Stripe and applicable legal or payment requirements.
VAE does not require Users to provide bank account information as part of the initial VAE profile onboarding.
Stripe Identity & Payment Verification
Stripe may require additional verification before or after a payment account is activated.
This may occur because of:
- identity-verification requirements;
- payment-processing requirements;
- tax-reporting requirements;
- changes to User information;
- account activity; or
- other legal or regulatory requirements applicable to Stripe.
If additional information is required, Stripe or VAE may notify the User and provide instructions for completing the requested verification.
Failure to complete required Stripe verification may result in payments or payouts being delayed, restricted, or paused until the requested information is provided.
Stripe verification is separate from VAE's marketplace-approval process.
Updating Payment or Payout Information
Users who need to update financial or payout information should do so through the Stripe-connected payment experience made available through VAE.
For security reasons, certain sensitive payment or banking information may be maintained directly by Stripe rather than VAE.
Changes to payment or payout information may require additional verification before becoming effective.
Independent Marketplace Providers
Entertainers and Venue Owners using VAE provide their services or venues independently and are not employees of VAE.
They determine the services or venues they offer, their pricing, availability, and whether to accept booking opportunities, subject to VAE's Terms of Service and policies.
Users remain responsible for any licenses, permits, insurance, registrations, taxes, or other qualifications required for their activities under applicable law.
